Forty-year-old Cape Verde goalkeeper Josimar Dias, better known as Vozinha, delivered one of the most inspiring stories of the FIFA World Cup 2026, proving that determination and resilience can outshine even the biggest names in football.

Raised by his grandparents in Mindelo on the island of São Vicente, Vozinha's football journey was anything but glamorous. After years of playing across Angola, Moldova, Cyprus, Slovakia and Portugal's second division, he arrived at the World Cup as one of the tournament's oldest and least-publicized players.
