The Cannes Film Festival 2022 will take place in France from May 17 to May 28. The festival’s enthusiasm is at an all-time high this year, thanks to India’s strong presence and participation at the event.

 

 

 Deepika Padukone, an Indian actress, was previously named as a jury member for Cannes 2022.

 

 

 

In addition, Anurag Thakur, the Union Minister of Information, Broadcasting, Youth Affairs, and Sports, announced that five companies will pitch to the audiovisual sector for the Cannes Film Festival 2022. 

 

 

Many A-list Bollywood celebs, including Deepika Padukone, have already confirmed their attendance on the renowned event’s red carpet.

 

The Indian contingent will be represented at the Cannes Film Festival 2022 by some of the greatest superstars. The red carpet will be graced by Akshay Kumar, who is gearing up for the premiere of the historical drama Prithviraj. 

 

The event will also allegedly include music legend AR Rahman.

Pooja Hegde, fresh off the success of the action movie Beast and the drama Radhe Shyam, will also walk the red carpet. 

 

Finally, as part of the Indian contingent, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur will be among the Indian luminaries who will walk the red carpet on the opening day of the 75th Cannes Film Festival.

Union Minister Anurag Thakur discussed the importance of the film festival, saying, “India, which is regarded as the world’s largest filmmaker, would be sending many representatives from the entertainment industry to the Cannes Film Festival this year.” Our main goal would be to position India as the world’s content generator.

 

 We’ll screen films in Cannes that highlight India’s content strength,” said the team.

 

Continuing, he said, “Our branding in Cannes will have only one focus: India is the world’s content hub.” This will help the country’s economy. All of our great filmmaking and tradition will be displayed,” He also made an announcement.

that R Madhavan’s upcoming biographical film ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ will be premiered at the festival.
