Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury Condemns Alleged Attack on TMC MPs, Calls Violence ‘Shameful for Bengal’

Senior Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has strongly condemned the alleged attacks on Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs in West Bengal, stating that violence against political leaders has no place in a democratic society.

Reacting to the recent incidents involving TMC parliamentarians, Chowdhury said, “Violence against politicians should stop; it is shameful for Bengal.” His remarks come amid escalating political tensions in the state following allegations of attacks on TMC leaders during public engagements.

The Congress veteran emphasized that political differences should be resolved through democratic dialogue rather than violence and intimidation. He expressed concern over the growing trend of confrontational politics and urged all political parties to exercise restraint.

Chowdhury's statement follows allegations by TMC leaders that they were targeted during separate incidents in West Bengal, sparking a fresh debate over political violence and law and order in the state.

The comments are likely to add to the ongoing political discourse in Bengal, where rival parties have frequently accused one another of fostering an atmosphere of hostility and confrontation. Political observers believe the issue could become a major talking point ahead of future electoral contests in the state.
