India’s aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) ecosystem is taking another step towards greater self-reliance with the planned establishment of a new aircraft radome repair facility in Nagpur.

Union Minister for Civil Aviation  Ram Mohan Naidu witnessed the exchange of contract documents between Airbus and Indamer for setting up the facility. MoCA Secretary i Samir Kumar Sinha and senior officials were also present during the event.

The new facility will allow aircraft radome repairs to be carried out in India, reducing airlines’ dependence on overseas repair facilities. The move is also expected to help lower turnaround times and logistics costs associated with sending aircraft components abroad for maintenance.

The initiative is expected to further strengthen India’s domestic MRO capabilities and contribute to the development of Nagpur as an important aviation and MRO hub.

With growing demand for aircraft maintenance services, the facility represents another step towards building a stronger domestic aviation support ecosystem and enhancing India’s capabilities across the aircraft maintenance value chain.
