Amit Shah Hits Back at Rahul Gandhi on Fuel Price Claims, Says India Shielded from Global Hikes

By Editorial Team 👁 49
Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a sharp counterattack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his allegations regarding rising fuel prices in India. Addressing an election rally in Mannadipet during the Puducherry polls, Shah dismissed Rahul Gandhi’s claims, stating that petrol and diesel prices have increased in countries like Pakistan, not in India. He asserted that despite global volatility in fuel markets, the Indian government has successfully protected citizens from price hikes. Shah emphasised that the Centre has taken proactive measures to stabilise fuel prices and reduce the burden on the common man. Highlighting the government’s economic management, he said India stands out for maintaining stability in fuel prices even as several countries face inflationary pressures. Shah credited policy decisions and strategic interventions for insulating the domestic market from global fluctuations. The remarks come amid an ongoing political tussle between the BJP and Congress over inflation and cost-of-living issues, which have become key talking points in the Puducherry election campaign.
