Amidst the vibrant celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitr, Abhishek Banerjee, National General Secretary of the All India Trinamool Congress and Member of Parliament, joined congregants at Red Road today to extend his greetings and address the gathering. In a speech centered on the enduring strength of India’s social fabric, Mr. Banerjee emphasized the concept of "bhaichara" (brotherhood), asserting that the communal harmony shared by the people of West Bengal and the nation remains untainted. Addressing the crowd, he warned against contemporary divisive influences, stating, "With people trying to create a wedge between brothers, we must respect each other and our beliefs, and stand together." Mr. Banerjee highlighted several universal lessons derived from the spirit of the festival, identifying "sabr" (patience), "imtehan" (examination), and "mohabbat" (love) as the essential foundations of humanity. He framed these values not just as religious tenets, but as civic necessities for a functioning democracy. The Diamond Harbour MP also took a firm stance against exclusionary politics. He remarked that those attempting to "omit people’s names" or "drive them away" would find their efforts short-lived, as the collective will of the people stands as a barrier against such actions. "All festivals from different religions, when combined, create the India that is capable of leading the world," Banerjee noted. Pointing to the shared spirit across religious festivities in India, Abhishek Banerjee emphasized that India’s emergence as a global leader is anchored in its diversity and the shared resilience of its citizens..
