Delhi’s New LPG Policy: No Direct Sales from Godowns, Focus on Accessibility

The Delhi Government has imposed a complete ban on the direct sale of LPG cylinders from godowns, tightening regulations to ensure safety and proper distribution practices across the capital. In line with the directive, Oil Marketing Companies have issued clear instructions to all LPG distributors, stating that any sale of cylinders directly from storage facilities is illegal and will invite strict action. Strict Enforcement Measures Authorities have emphasized that distributors must adhere strictly to prescribed delivery and sales norms. Any violation of the new rule could lead to penalties, suspension of licenses, or further legal action. Boost to 5-kg Cylinder Availability To address accessibility challenges—especially for individuals without proper address proof—the government has simultaneously increased the availability of smaller 5-kg LPG cylinders across the city.
