U.S. President Donald Trump has sharply criticised NATO allies, alleging that several member nations have declined to participate in ongoing American military operations against Iran in the Middle East.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated that while many allied nations agree with Washington’s position that Iran must not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons, they have chosen to refrain from direct military involvement. He described the alliance as a “one-way street,” asserting that the United States spends heavily on collective defence but receives limited support in return during times of conflict.

Trump further claimed that U.S. forces have inflicted extensive damage on Iran’s military capabilities, including its naval and air assets, air defence systems, and leadership structures. According to the President, these developments have significantly reduced Iran’s ability to pose a threat to the United States, its allies in the Middle East, or global stability.
Emphasising American military strength, Trump declared that the United States does not require assistance from NATO partners or other key allies such as Japan, Australia, or South Korea. He asserted that recent operational success demonstrates Washington’s capacity to act independently in safeguarding its strategic interests.
