Edappadi K Palaniswami Targets MK Stalin Over Seat Allocation Bill, Says ‘Tamil Nadu Women’s Rights Taken Away’

By Editorial Team 👁 43
Edappadi K. Palaniswami launched a sharp attack on M. K. Stalin over the ongoing controversy surrounding the proposed seat allocation and constitutional amendment issue. Responding to Stalin’s criticism of the Centre, Palaniswami said that while the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister accused the Union government of betraying the state and staged a protest by wearing a black shirt, the Centre had already assured that no state would be adversely affected. Highlighting the specifics, the AIADMK leader stated that Tamil Nadu is set to receive 59 seats, with its representation percentage increasing to 7.23%. However, he alleged that despite these assurances, the ruling DMK failed to effectively oppose the bill and instead allowed provisions that could undermine the rights of women in the state. Palaniswami further called on women voters to take note of the issue, asserting that such actions should not be forgiven. His remarks add to the intensifying political debate in Tamil Nadu over representation, federal rights, and the implications of the proposed constitutional changes.
