General N S Raja Subramani has officially assumed charge as India's new Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), taking over the nation's highest military position at a crucial time for India's defence and security landscape.

Following his appointment, Gen Subramani emphasized the unwavering commitment of the Indian Armed Forces toward safeguarding the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

"Our armed forces consistently demonstrated professionalism and operational decisiveness in safeguarding our national interests. We are committed to protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country," the newly appointed CDS stated.

Reassuring the citizens of India, Gen Subramani further said, "I assure citizens of India that armed forces will continue to serve the nation with dedication, courage, honour and professionalism."

The Chief of Defence Staff plays a pivotal role in enhancing coordination among the Army, Navy, and Air Force while advising the government on strategic military matters.
