The Government of India has acknowledged a challenging phase in the supply of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and has urged citizens to remain calm while authorities work to stabilise distribution across the country.
Speaking on the situation, Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, said the government is closely monitoring LPG availability and distribution networks.
Sujata Sharma advised citizens not to resort to panic booking of LPG cylinders, noting that such behaviour could place unnecessary pressure on the supply chain. She also cautioned the public to remain vigilant against black-marketing activities during the current phase.
Authorities have intensified monitoring efforts across several states, with enforcement agencies conducting raids against hoarding and illegal sale of LPG cylinders. The measures are aimed at ensuring that domestic consumers continue to receive cylinders through the normal distribution system without disruption.
Officials emphasised that the government remains committed to maintaining a steady supply of LPG while taking strict action against those attempting to exploit the situation for profiteering.
