Indian hockey team celebrates after beating Pakistan 5–3 at the Hockey World Cup

India delivered a commanding performance against arch-rivals Pakistan, securing a thrilling 5–3 victory in their final Pool D encounter at the Wagener Hockey Stadium.

The decisive win saw India finish second in Pool D with six points, behind England, who topped the group with nine points, and advance to the second round while keeping their semifinal hopes firmly alive.

Captain Harmanpreet Singh and forward Abhishek were the stars of India's attacking display, scoring two goals each, while Hardik Singh added another through a successful penalty stroke. Harmanpreet's trademark drag-flicks and Abhishek's clinical movement inside the circle proved too difficult for

Pakistan to contain as India maintained their attacking intensity throughout the contest.
The victory also extended India's impressive dominance in their historic World Cup rivalry with Pakistan. While India moved into Pool E for the second round, Pakistan's campaign came to an end following the defeat.

India will now face another crucial challenge in Pool E as they continue their pursuit of a place in the semifinals. With confidence high after their emphatic victory over Pakistan, the Men in Blue will look to carry the momentum into the next stage of the tournament.
