India Strengthens Regional Ties as VP C. P. Radhakrishnan Meets Sri Lanka’s President Anura Dissanayake

In a significant diplomatic engagement, India’s Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan met Sri Lankan President Anura Dissanayake at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo on Sunday. The two leaders held productive discussions aimed at strengthening the multifaceted relationship between India and Sri Lanka. The dialogue emphasized the deep-rooted historical and cultural ties shared by both nations, while exploring avenues for enhanced bilateral cooperation. Reaffirming India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy, the Vice President underscored New Delhi’s continued commitment to fostering regional partnerships and ensuring mutual growth and stability. He highlighted India’s proactive role in supporting Sri Lanka’s development and recovery efforts. Key discussions also revolved around ongoing development initiatives, including the Indian Housing Project, which has been instrumental in improving living conditions across Sri Lanka. Additionally, both sides reviewed progress on projects under the USD 450 million assistance package aimed at rebuilding areas affected by Cyclone Ditwah. The meeting reflects the continued momentum in India-Sri Lanka relations, with both countries working closely to strengthen cooperation across economic, cultural, and humanitarian domains.
