India Women Table Tennis Team are trailing Singapore 2-1 in their second Group F match at the Asian Games 2026, after making a winning start to their campaign against Indonesia.

India had opened their women’s team table tennis campaign with a convincing 3-0 victory over Indonesia earlier on Sunday. However, the Indian paddlers have faced a tougher challenge against Singapore in their second Group F encounter.

Yashaswini Ghorpade Gives India Early Lead

Yashaswini Ghorpade put India ahead in the Singapore tie with a strong performance in the opening rubber.

Ghorpade secured a 3-1 victory, giving the Indian team an early advantage and putting them in a positive position at the start of the contest.

With India taking the first rubber, attention then shifted to Sreeja Akula, who stepped onto the table for the second match.

Sreeja Akula Loses Close Battle

Sreeja Akula was unable to extend India's lead as she suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat to Loy Ming Ying.
The closely fought encounter brought Singapore level in the team tie and increased the pressure on the Indian side.

Akula had earlier played a key role in India's opening 3-0 win over Indonesia, defeating Ni Maharani 3-1 in the first rubber.
