Jadumani Singh Wins CWG 2026 Boxing Silver for India

Indian boxer Jadumani Singh Mandengbam produced a memorable performance to secure the silver medal in the men's 55kg boxing category at the Commonwealth Games 2026, capping off a sensational debut campaign on the Commonwealth stage.
The 22-year-old boxer from Manipur fought bravely in the gold medal bout but went down to Australia's Jye Dixon by a unanimous decision after three fiercely contested rounds.

Jadumani started strongly, overcoming Dixon's reach advantage with crisp combinations to edge the opening round on several judges' scorecards. However, the Australian responded brilliantly in the second round with accurate counter-punching before controlling the final round with disciplined defense and ring movement to claim the gold medal.

Despite the defeat in the final, Jadumani's journey to the silver medal was nothing short of dominant. He defeated Scotland's Aaron Cullen, Pakistan's Sumama Rehman, Zambia's Mwengo Mwale and Namibia's Philip Haoseb, winning each bout by a commanding 5-0 unanimous decision to reach the championship match.

The Glasgow campaign also highlighted the success of Jadumani's move from the 50kg to the 55kg weight category. The transition allowed him to compete with greater strength, stamina and speed while avoiding the demanding weight cuts of his previous division.

Already a World Boxing Cup medallist, Jadumani has now added a Commonwealth Games silver medal to his growing list of achievements, further underlining India's rising stature in international boxing. His performance in Glasgow is expected to inspire the next generation of Indian boxers and reinforces the country's impressive medal-winning run at the Commonwealth Games 2026.
