Men's Shot Put F57 Results

🥇 Gold: Soman Rana (India) – 13.40m
🥈 Silver: Shubham Juyal (India) – 13.28m
🥉 Bronze: Cedric Idriss Lezeko Azamdi (Cameroon) – 12.57m

Soman Rana's Inspiring Journey

The 43-year-old Indian Army Havildar has one of the most inspiring stories in Indian sport. A promising boxer with the 8 Gorkha Rifles, Soman's life changed in 2006 after he lost his right leg in a landmine blast while serving along the Line of Control in Jammu & Kashmir.
Following years of rehabilitation, he embraced para-athletics in 2017 through the Army Paralympic Node. Since then, he has represented India at the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Paralympics, won Silver at the 2022 Asian Para Games, Bronze at the 2025 World Para Athletics Championships, and has now added Commonwealth Games Gold to his remarkable career.

Historic Achievement for India

The unforgettable one-two finish highlights India's growing dominance in para-athletics and reflects the success of the country's high-performance sports ecosystem, backed by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS). The achievement also marks one of India's finest performances in para-sports at the Commonwealth Games.
