Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday remembered the victims of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in the United States, marking 25 years since the tragedy that claimed thousands of lives.

In a social media post, PM Modi paid tribute to those who lost their lives and expressed solidarity with the families whose lives were permanently changed by the attacks.
β€œ25 years on from the horrific 9/11 attacks, we remember and honour the victims and stand in solidarity with the families whose lives were forever changed,” the Prime Minister said.

Modi highlighted the global impact of terrorism, noting that the scourge has claimed countless lives across the world. He also underlined India's longstanding experience in confronting terrorism.

β€œAs a victim of cross-border terrorism, India has been at the forefront of this fight for several decades,” Modi said.

The Prime Minister stressed that although the nature of the terrorist threat continues to evolve, India's opposition to terrorism remains firm.

β€œWhile the threat keeps evolving, our resolve and opposition to terrorism in all its forms and manifestations remain unwavering,” he said, adding that India stands in solidarity with global efforts to combat terrorism.

Modi also shared glimpses from his visit to the 9/11 Memorial & Museum in New York in 2014, recalling the solemn occasion and reiterating the importance of collective international action against terrorism.
