West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee has accused the BJP of attempting to undermine Bengal’s sovereignty through large-scale voter manipulation.
In a strong social media statement, Banerjee alleged that the BJP has submitted “thousands upon thousands” of Form 6 applications to infiltrate outsider voters from BJP-ruled states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh into West Bengal’s electoral rolls.

She claimed that central agencies are being deployed to manipulate voter lists and engineer demographic changes from outside the state, aiming to seize political control by circumventing fair democratic processes.
Banerjee criticized the Election Commission of India (ECI) for allegedly ignoring her letters regarding the matter, while giving undue consideration to BJP’s submissions without legal justification.
The Chief Minister warned that in 2026, the people of Bengal would resist attempts to alter the state’s demographics and protect the integrity of electoral rolls.
“The people of Bengal will fight every attempt to orchestrate demographic change. They will defend the sanctity of their state, their rolls, and their verdict. And they will win,” Banerjee said.
