Marco Rubio Begins India Visit with Arrival in Kolkata
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived in India on Saturday along with his wife Jeanette, receiving a warm welcome at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata.US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor was present at the airport to receive the visiting US delegation.
The visit marks another significant chapter in India–US diplomatic engagement, reflecting the growing strategic partnership between the two countries. High-level visits between India and the United States continue to strengthen cooperation across trade, defense, technology, energy, and regional security.
Kolkata’s inclusion in the diplomatic itinerary also highlights the increasing importance of eastern India in global geopolitical and economic discussions. The visit is expected to further enhance bilateral ties and open avenues for deeper cooperation between the two nations.
