Netanyahu Signals No Halt in Strikes on Iran, Lebanon Amid Ongoing Talks

Benjamin Netanyahu has reiterated that Israel will continue its military operations against targets in Iran and Lebanon, even as diplomatic efforts gain momentum. In a statement shared on social media, Netanyahu revealed that he held discussions earlier in the day with U.S. President Donald Trump. According to Netanyahu, Trump believes there is a strategic opportunity to convert recent military gains into a broader agreement that would safeguard Israel’s long-term interests. “President Trump believes there is an opportunity to leverage the tremendous achievements we have attained with the U.S. military to realize the war objectives in an agreement—an agreement that will safeguard our vital interests,” Netanyahu stated. Despite the diplomatic opening, Israel’s military operations remain ongoing. Netanyahu emphasized that Israeli forces are continuing strikes aimed at dismantling Iran’s missile and nuclear capabilities, while also intensifying action against Hezbollah in Lebanon. “We are crushing the missile program and the nuclear program, and continuing to inflict severe blows on Hezbollah,” he said. Netanyahu maintained that while Israel remains open to a potential agreement, it will not compromise on its security priorities. “The hand is still outstretched,” he noted, “but we will safeguard our vital interests in any scenario.” The developments come amid heightened tensions in West Asia, where ongoing military actions and diplomatic negotiations are unfolding simultaneously, raising global concerns over regional stability and energy security.
