Prashant Kishor Slams Fuel Price Hike, Says Bihar Paying Higher Petrol and Diesel Costs
Prashant Kishor launched a sharp attack on the NDA government over fuel prices, alleging that petrol and diesel costs increase when elections are not around. He claimed that governments collect taxes from citizens and later shift public discourse toward political and social issues during election periods.
The Jan Suraaj chief also highlighted Bihar's fuel pricing concerns, stating that residents of the state have allegedly been paying nearly ₹10 more per litre for petrol and diesel compared to Uttar Pradesh over the past several years. He questioned the policies of the ruling alliance and criticized the state leadership over the issue.
Kishor further said that despite concerns over fuel pricing and taxation, the NDA government in Bihar received a strong electoral mandate from voters. His remarks come amid continuing political debates around inflation, fuel taxation, and public spending.
The comments are likely to fuel fresh political discussions in Bihar ahead of future electoral contests, where issues such as rising costs of living, taxation, and governance are expected to remain central topics.
