Goyal Showcases India's $30 Trillion Growth Vision

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal called on Estonian businesses to strengthen economic and technological partnerships with India, describing the current global geopolitical landscape as an opportunity for trusted nations to work together on resilient supply chains, innovation and long-term investment.

Addressing the India-Estonia Business Forum, Goyal said the world is passing through a challenging period, making it more important than ever for like-minded countries to collaborate as reliable partners. He emphasized the need to diversify global supply chains, integrate technologies, and cooperate in areas such as digital payment systems, public services and governance.

Highlighting India's economic progress, Goyal said the country offers one of the world's most attractive investment destinations. He noted that India's economy, currently valued at around $4 trillion, is growing at the fastest pace among major economies and is projected to exceed $30 trillion over the next two decades.

The minister credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership for transforming India from what he described as a "fragile five" economy into one of the world's leading economies. He said strong macroeconomic fundamentals, low inflation and sustained high growth have created a stable and business-friendly environment for global investors.

Goyal also stressed that India has introduced policy reforms and created an enabling ecosystem to encourage European companies to expand their footprint in the country. At the same time, he said Indian businesses are increasingly investing abroad in technology and innovation, helping integrate India with developed economies through trade, investment and technological collaboration.

Encouraging deeper engagement between India and Estonia, Goyal said the partnership can extend beyond commerce into technology, governance and tourism, creating mutual opportunities for sustainable economic growth and stronger bilateral ties.
