Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed for compassion and forgiveness towards the youths involved in the recent Jantar Mantar controversy, saying that while their language and actions deeply hurt society, they should be guided rather than punished.

In a video shared on his Instagram handle, the Prime Minister said he wanted to speak directly to the nation after the events at Jantar Mantar, where some young participants allegedly used abusive language directed at him and even his late mother.

Describing the incident as "an ugly spectacle," PM Modi acknowledged the widespread outrage but stressed that childhood and youth are also periods of learning and self-correction.

He said that the responsibility of society is not to isolate or harass young people who make mistakes, but to embrace them and show them the right path. According to the Prime Minister, court cases, punishment, or social humiliation alone cannot bring meaningful change.

Drawing an analogy, PM Modi said that when the tongue is accidentally bitten by the teeth, people do not break their teeth because both belong to the same body. Similarly, he said, the children involved are part of the nation's family and deserve an opportunity to reform.

Calling upon the youths to move forward together for the country's progress, the Prime Minister encouraged them to learn from their mistakes, pursue their dreams, and contribute to nation-building. He reiterated his commitment to the bright future of India's younger generation and urged them to join hands in taking the nation forward.
