PM Narendra Modi Meets Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan at SCO Summit in Bishkek

PM Narendra Modi met Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Bishkek, with the two leaders discussing ways to further strengthen India-Armenia bilateral relations.

The meeting focused on expanding cooperation across several key sectors, including defence, economic relations, pharmaceuticals, science and technology, culture and education. The leaders also exchanged views on important regional and global developments, including the situation in West Asia.

Defence and Economic Cooperation in Focus

Defence cooperation was among the key areas discussed by the two leaders. India has been seeking to strengthen defence partnerships with friendly countries while expanding cooperation in areas such as technology, equipment and capacity building.

Economic cooperation was another important aspect of the discussions. Greater engagement between Indian and Armenian businesses could create opportunities in trade, investment and emerging sectors.
