President Murmu Welcomes Myanmar President U Min Aung Hlaing, Reaffirms Strong Bilateral Ties

President Droupadi Murmu received Myanmar President U Min Aung Hlaing at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi, reaffirming the strong historical, cultural, and diplomatic ties between India and Myanmar.

During the meeting, President Murmu highlighted that the shared Buddhist heritage and centuries-old people-to-people connections form the foundation of the warm and enduring relationship between the two neighbouring countries. She noted that these deep-rooted civilizational links continue to strengthen bilateral cooperation across various sectors.

The President also emphasized Myanmar's strategic importance in India's Act East Policy, describing the country as India's gateway to Southeast Asia. She underscored the significance of enhanced connectivity, trade, and regional cooperation in fostering greater engagement between India and the ASEAN region.

President Murmu further conveyed India's steadfast support for Myanmar's efforts toward peace, stability, and national reconciliation. She reiterated India's commitment to working closely with Myanmar for regional prosperity and mutual development.

The meeting reflected the shared desire of both nations to deepen cooperation and strengthen their longstanding partnership based on trust, cultural affinity, and common regional interests.
