Putin Urges Peace in West Asia, Says Russia Ready to Assist if Needed

Russian President Vladimir Putin has emphasized the need for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing West Asia conflict, while dismissing claims that Russia is benefiting from the resulting surge in global energy prices.

Speaking on the regional crisis and its impact on energy markets, Putin acknowledged Iran's resilience and national unity during the conflict.

"There is no doubt that the people of Iran have proven that their interests should be taken into account. They have shown cohesion and their will to fight," Putin said.

The Russian leader noted that Moscow continues to maintain close communication with Tehran and expressed hope that diplomatic efforts would lead to a positive outcome.

"We maintain contacts with our Iranian friends. We hope that this will end up in a positive result. If there is anything that Russia could do, we are always ready to provide assistance," he stated.

Putin also rejected suggestions that Russia is the primary beneficiary of rising energy prices caused by regional instability. While acknowledging that some Russian companies may temporarily gain from higher energy costs, he stressed that Moscow's long-term interests lie in global stability and mutually beneficial international partnerships.

"These are mere speculations, saying that Russia is presumably the only stakeholder and beneficiary from the rising prices of energy resources. To a certain extent, our companies do benefit from that, but this is only temporary and short-lived," Putin said.

He further emphasized that Russia seeks "long-term, stable relations with everyone based on mutual interests" and reiterated that ending the conflict remains a priority.

Welcoming recent diplomatic progress, Putin noted that a ceasefire has been established despite ongoing challenges and expressed hope that peace efforts would continue.

The remarks come as global markets closely monitor developments in West Asia, with concerns over energy supplies, oil prices, and regional security continuing to influence international economic and geopolitical discussions.
