Indian cricketer Rinku Singh has expressed his gratitude to the Government of Uttar Pradesh and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for appointing him as a Regional Sports Officer under the state’s sports quota. In a message shared on social media, the left-handed batter thanked the state leadership for the opportunity and acknowledged the financial assistance of ₹3 crore provided to support his sporting journey. “I thank the Uttar Pradesh government and Hon’ble Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for appointing me to the post of Regional Sports Officer,” Singh said in the message. Rinku Singh, who has emerged as one of India’s promising cricketing talents in recent years, said the support from the state government will further motivate him to continue contributing to Indian cricket while also helping nurture sports at the grassroots level. The appointment reflects the state government’s push to recognise and reward athletes who have brought recognition to Uttar Pradesh at the national and international level. The role of Regional Sports Officer will allow Singh to actively contribute to the development of young talent and strengthening the sports ecosystem in the state.
