Oyarzabal Inspires Spain to Dominant Win Over Austria
Spain stormed into the FIFA World Cup Round of 16 with a commanding 3-0 victory over Austria in the Round of 32, securing their first World Cup knockout-stage win since lifting the trophy in 2010.
Mikel Oyarzabal starred with a clinical brace, opening the scoring in the 34th minute with a first-time finish from Marc Cucurella's precise low cross. Pedro Porro doubled Spain's advantage with a powerful header in the 66th minute before Oyarzabal sealed the emphatic win in the 89th minute, once again finishing off a brilliant assist from Cucurella following a swift counterattack.
Luis de la Fuente's side controlled possession throughout and limited Austria to very few clear-cut chances. Although Oyarzabal grabbed the headlines with two goals, Lamine Yamal was named Player of the Match for his outstanding all-round performance.
