Suvendu Adhikari Predicts BJP Landslide in West Bengal, Claims Over 180 Seats in ‘Ground Exit Poll’
In a bold assertion following the conclusion of polling in the West Bengal Assembly elections, Suvendu Adhikari, BJP candidate from Nandigram and Bhabanipur, claimed that his party is set for a decisive victory. Speaking on exit poll trends, Adhikari said, “I'm telling you the exit poll from the ground. BJP is getting more than 180 seats. BJP is forming the government with a majority. Hindus have cast their votes freely…” His remarks come amid intense political contestation in one of India’s most closely watched state elections. While official exit polls from agencies are awaited or remain mixed, Adhikari emphasized what he described as strong grassroots feedback favoring the Bharatiya Janata Party. The West Bengal elections, conducted in two phases, witnessed record-breaking voter turnout, indicating heightened political engagement across the state. The final outcome, however, will only be confirmed once the official counting of votes is completed. Political analysts caution that exit poll claims—especially those based on informal assessments—should be viewed carefully until verified by Election Commission results.
