Trump Signals Possible Ukraine Ceasefire After Putin Call, Reaffirms Firm Stance Against Iran Nuclear Program
In a significant geopolitical development, Donald J Trump revealed details of a recent conversation with Vladimir Putin, touching upon critical global flashpoints including the war in Ukraine and nuclear concerns surrounding Iran. Speaking to reporters, Trump stated that President Putin expressed interest in being involved in uranium enrichment discussions related to Iran. However, Trump emphasized that his priority remains ending the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. “I said I'd much rather have you be involved with ending the war in Ukraine,” Trump noted, indicating a strategic shift in diplomatic focus. Trump further revealed that Putin suggested the possibility of a limited ceasefire in Ukraine, hinting at a potential breakthrough. “He suggested a little bit of a ceasefire, and I think he might do that. He might announce something,” Trump added, raising cautious optimism about de-escalation in the region. On Iran, Trump reiterated a hardline stance, asserting that the United States will not allow Tehran to develop nuclear weapons under any circumstances. “We're not going to let Iran have a nuclear weapon,” he said, claiming that a significant portion of Iran’s missile infrastructure has already been dismantled. According to Trump, approximately 80% of Iran’s missile-making capabilities have been neutralized, with the remaining facilities potentially removable if diplomatic agreements fail. “They have very little left… They know it, and just about everybody else does,” he asserted. The remarks come amid rising global tensions and ongoing diplomatic efforts to stabilize key conflict zones. Trump’s statements suggest a dual-track approach—pushing for peace in Ukraine while maintaining pressure on Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
