US President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning of potential large-scale retaliation following heightened tensions in the Middle East linked to reported strikes near Iran’s critical energy infrastructure.
In a strongly worded statement, Trump said that Israel had “violently lashed out” at a section of the South Pars Gas Field—one of the world’s largest natural gas reserves—acting out of anger over recent developments in the region. He emphasized that only a “relatively small section” of the facility was impacted.

The US President clarified that Washington had no prior knowledge of the Israeli action and stressed that Qatar was not involved in any capacity, nor aware of the planned strike.
According to Trump, Iran responded by targeting a portion of Qatar’s liquefied natural gas infrastructure, allegedly under a misunderstanding of the situation. He described Tehran’s response as “unjustifiable and unfair,” further escalating already fragile regional dynamics.
Issuing a direct warning, Trump stated that no further Israeli attacks on the South Pars field would occur unless Iran chose to retaliate again—particularly against Qatar. He cautioned that any such move would trigger an overwhelming response from the United States, potentially involving the destruction of the entire gas field at an unprecedented scale.
While underscoring his reluctance to authorize such extreme measures,
Trump’s remarks signal a sharp escalation in rhetoric, raising concerns over the possibility of a broader conflict impacting global energy security and regional stability.
The South Pars field, jointly shared by Iran and Qatar, remains a strategic energy asset, and any disruption could have far-reaching consequences for international markets.
