Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh has emerged as a major box office disappointment, failing to cross even ₹90 crore globally by the end of its opening weekend. The film has struggled to maintain momentum, with daily collections dropping below double digits after Day 2. On Sunday, it earned just ₹8 crore across 3,200 shows, taking its India nett total to ₹60.80 crore. Comparatively, even the Telugu version of Dhurandhar 2 earned ₹5.25 crore on the same day, while its Hindi version dominated with ₹107 crore.
The film is also performing worse than Pawan Kalyan’s previous flop, Hari Hara Veera Mallu. While both films opened at ₹34.75 crore, Hari Hara Veera Mallu showed slight growth over the weekend, whereas Ustaad Bhagat Singh declined after Friday, earning ₹9.05 crore on Saturday and ₹8 crore on Sunday. As a result, its opening weekend total stood at ₹17.05 crore, lower than Hari Hara Veera Mallu’s ₹19.75 crore. Directed by Harish Shankar, the film received largely negative reviews, with critics pointing out that despite strong expectations, it failed to deliver a compelling story, focusing more on glorifying its lead star than engaging the audience.
