Day 2 of the BWF World Championships 2026 delivered a spectacular mix of comebacks, tight finishes and dominant performances at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi.

Home favourite Lakshya Sen produced one of the day's biggest turnarounds, while a remarkable mixed doubles encounter stretched beyond the conventional 21-point finish and reached badminton's 30-point limit.

Lakshya Sen Stages Stunning Comeback

Lakshya Sen endured a difficult start against Austria's Collins Valentine Filimon, losing the opening game 16-21.

The Indian responded emphatically, however, conceding just 12 points across the next two games. Sen completed a 16-21, 21-8, 21-4 victory in 45 minutes to progress to the Round of 32.
He will next face USA's Garret Tan.
