Dhurandhar 2 smashes records worldwide: biggest Hindi opener, back-to-back ₹100 crore days, fastest to ₹500 crore.

Despite receiving polarised reviews—hailed by some as a cinematic marvel and criticised by others as a pro-establishment narrative—director Aditya Dhar’s Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge continues its unstoppable run at the box office. The spy action film has amassed a staggering ₹691.32 crore globally in its opening weekend alone, according to Sacnilk, positioning itself as one of the biggest hits in Indian cinema. Domestically, the film collected ₹114.85 crore on Sunday across 21,202 shows, taking its India nett total to ₹454.12 crore, with an impressive occupancy rate of 79.7%. Overseas, it has earned ₹149.35 crore so far. The Hindi version remains the primary driver, contributing ₹107 crore on Sunday, while regional versions added smaller amounts—Telugu ₹5.25 crore, Tamil ₹2.50 crore, Malayalam ₹90 lakh, and Kannada ₹10 lakh.

The film’s weekend performance places it among the highest-grossing Indian openers, collecting ₹227.85 crore over Saturday and Sunday, ahead of Baahubali 2 (₹183 crore) and KGF 2 (₹173.65 crore), though slightly behind Pushpa 2 (₹260.3 crore). Dhurandhar 2 has already broken multiple records, including the biggest Hindi opening day with ₹102.55 crore (₹99.10 crore from Hindi alone), surpassing Pushpa 2: The Rule. It also set a new benchmark for paid previews with ₹43 crore, overtaking They Call Him OG. Additionally, it became the first Hindi film to cross ₹100 crore in a single day and achieved rare back-to-back ₹100 crore days over the weekend.

Globally, the film recorded ₹236.63 crore on its opening day, making it the second-highest India opener worldwide after Pushpa 2, while also ranking fourth in highest day-one collections in India. It further created history by becoming the fastest Indian film to cross the ₹500 crore mark. In the domestic market, it has already surpassed the lifetime collections of Dangal (₹387 crore) and Baahubali (₹421 crore), while globally it has overtaken 2.0 (₹691 crore) and Gadar 2 (₹686 crore), and is now chasing PK (₹792 crore).
