India’s Transformation Since 2014 Reflects NDA’s Commitment to Nation First: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) conclave in New Delhi, describing the alliance’s achievements as a collective accomplishment and dedicating a resolution presented by NDA members to all alliance partners and BJP karyakartas.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said the resolution reflected the combined efforts of the NDA family and symbolized the trust placed in the alliance by the people of India. Recalling the NDA’s victory in 2014, he said it marked the rise of new hope among citizens and that preserving this trust has remained the alliance’s foremost responsibility.

Modi asserted that one of the biggest achievements of the NDA’s 12 years in office has been breaking what he termed the cycle of stagnation and policy paralysis that existed under previous Congress governments. He said India has moved beyond an era of delayed decision-making and slow development, replacing it with a governance model focused on speed, scale and delivery.

Highlighting India’s economic progress, the Prime Minister noted that despite global economic uncertainties, India recorded a growth rate of 7.7 percent in 2025-26, while the quarter ending March 31 registered a growth rate of 7.8 percent. He emphasized that India has transformed from being counted among the “Fragile Five” economies to becoming the world’s fastest-growing major economy.

The Prime Minister also outlined measures aimed at supporting the middle class, including tax relief that makes annual income up to ₹12 lakh tax-free, a simplified and faceless tax system, improved infrastructure and expanded opportunities for the younger generation.

Emphasizing the principle of “Nation First,” Modi said the NDA government has taken several bold decisions that previous governments avoided. He cited the abrogation of Article 370, the implementation of constitutional provisions across Jammu and Kashmir, peace-building efforts in the Northeast and stronger action against terrorism through surgical strikes and airstrikes.

Referring to Operation Sindoor, the Prime Minister said India has demonstrated its resolve and capability to respond decisively to security threats, reinforcing the nation’s standing on the global stage.

The Prime Minister also highlighted India’s progress towards energy security and self-reliance. He referred to the ambitious Samudra Manthan mission announced from the Red Fort and welcomed recent developments in oil and gas exploration, describing them as significant opportunities for the country’s future growth.

Looking ahead, Modi stressed the importance of accelerating efforts to achieve India’s target of 500 GW of clean energy capacity. While praising the rapid expansion of solar power, he underlined the need to strengthen nuclear energy capabilities. He noted that India’s advances in fast breeder reactor technology represent a major milestone on the path toward self-reliance in nuclear energy and long-term energy security.

Concluding his address, the Prime Minister said the journey from 2014 to 2026 is not merely a story of economic indicators but a narrative of national transformation, confidence and aspiration, with India steadily progressing towards becoming a developed nation.
