India Shines at Asian Games with Medals and Milestones
India enjoyed a memorable day at the Asian Games 2026, combining podium finishes, commanding victories and historic milestones across multiple sporting disciplines.
The shooting contingent led the medal charge, with India securing Silver in the Menβs 10m Air Rifle Team event. Himanshu Dhillon, representing NCoE, added an Individual Silver in the Menβs 10m Air Rifle event, while Rudrankksh Balasaheb Patil, a TOPS Core athlete, claimed Individual Bronze.
A major milestone came in Mixed Martial Arts, where Suchika Tariyal (TAGG) created history by winning Indiaβs first-ever Asian Games MMA medal.
On the hockey field, the Indian Womenβs Hockey Team produced a dominant performance, defeating Indonesia 17β1 in a commanding victory.
India also made a strong start in badminton, with the Indian Menβs Badminton Team opening its campaign with a 3β0 victory.
In Table Tennis, both the Indian Menβs and Womenβs teams advanced to the Round of 16, keeping their campaigns firmly on track.
The Indian Kabaddi teams also began their Asian Games campaigns with convincing victories, adding to a day of positive results across the Indian contingent.
From the shooting range to the mat, and from the hockey field to the courts, Team India continued to combine determination, skill and competitive excellence, producing medals and important milestones on the Asian Games stage.
