Jaishankar Meets Bulgarian FM Velislava Petrova-Chamova to Boost Bilateral Ties

External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar held talks with Bulgarian Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova-Chamova, reviewing the full spectrum of India-Bulgaria relations and identifying new opportunities for bilateral cooperation.

Sharing details of the meeting on social media, Dr. Jaishankar said he was delighted to interact with the Bulgarian Foreign Minister and discussed ways to further strengthen the longstanding partnership between the two countries.

The discussions focused on expanding cooperation in the context of the proposed India-European Union Free Trade Agreement (EU-FTA), the Strategic and Defence Partnership, and the Comprehensive Mobility Cooperation Framework.

Both leaders explored opportunities to enhance economic engagement and collaboration in key sectors, including science and technology, artificial intelligence, pharmaceuticals, defence, connectivity, mobility, education, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.

The ministers also emphasized the importance of increasing the frequency of political engagements to further strengthen bilateral relations.

Dr. Jaishankar noted that India and Bulgaria are committed to transforming their longstanding friendship into a modern, forward-looking partnership capable of addressing emerging global opportunities and challenges.

The meeting reflects the growing momentum in India-Bulgaria relations as both countries seek to deepen cooperation across strategic, economic, technological, and cultural domains. :::
