After a competitive first half, Morocco broke the deadlock five minutes after the restart when Azzedine Ounahi fired home a superb first-time strike following a well-worked free-kick routine created by Achraf Hakimi.

Canada had earlier threatened through Tani Oluwaseyi and Tajon Buchanan, but goalkeeper Yassine Bounou made crucial saves to keep the scores level.

The Atlas Lions took complete control in the second half despite losing tournament top scorer Ismael Saibari to an early injury. Ounahi doubled Morocco's advantage in the 82nd minute with a powerful finish after a brilliant counter-attack involving Brahim Diaz.

Soufiane Rahimi sealed the victory deep into stoppage time, finishing calmly after another assist from Diaz to complete a dominant 3-0 win. Ounahi was named Player of the Match for his match-winning brace.

The victory sends Morocco into the FIFA World Cup 2026 quarter-finals, where they will face the winners of the France vs Paraguay clash in Boston on 9 July. Canada's impressive tournament ends in the Round of 16 after recording the nation's best-ever FIFA World Cup campaign.
