Harsh Sanghavi Distributes Appointment Letters to 113 Deputy Section Officers in Gujarat
Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi on the occasion of Dhanteras said appointment letters had been presented to 113 newly recruited Deputy Section Officers in Gandhinagar, while 64 Section Officers received promotions.
In a post on X, Sanghavi described the appointments as an important opportunity for young people entering government service and linked the recruitment drive to the state government’s emphasis on merit and transparency.
26 Candidates With Disabilities Appointed
Sanghavi said 26 young persons with disabilities had also received opportunities to join government service through a special recruitment drive.
Gujarat has an established reservation framework for persons with disabilities in government employment, with the state’s Social Justice and Empowerment Department administering disability-related recruitment provisions.
Sanghavi Highlights Merit-Based Recruitment
The Deputy Chief Minister credited Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s government with providing public-sector jobs on the basis of merit, hard work and transparent recruitment procedures.
Those comments represent Sanghavi’s assessment of the state government’s recruitment record.
He said the appointments were not merely jobs but the culmination of years of effort by candidates and their families.
Gujarat Plans Large-Scale Recruitment Through 2033
Sanghavi also highlighted the state government’s longer-term plan to directly recruit more than 2.10 lakh people to Class I, II and III posts between 2024 and 2033.
The recruitment push is intended to fill vacancies across different government departments while creating employment opportunities for young candidates.
Dhanteras Ceremony Held in Gandhinagar
The appointment programme was held in Gandhinagar as Gujarat marked Dhanteras.
Sanghavi said the timing made the occasion particularly significant for the newly appointed candidates and their families.
He urged the officers to regard their appointments as the beginning of a renewed commitment to public service.
Special Focus on Inclusive Government Employment
The inclusion of candidates with disabilities was highlighted as an important component of the recruitment exercise.
Gujarat’s disability welfare administration covers reservation, recruitment support and implementation of statutory protections for persons with disabilities in state services.
The Gujarat government recruitment drive therefore combines regular appointments, promotions and targeted recruitment intended to broaden participation in public employment.
