No Fuel Shortage Amid West Asia Crisis: Govt Reassures Lok Sabha

By Editorial Team 👁 38
The government firmly dismissed concerns over petrol, diesel, and kerosene shortages in Lok Sabha on Thursday, attributing stability to robust supply chains despite the West Asia crisis. Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri countered Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi's queries, emphasizing that the Modi government's top priority remains ensuring fuel for the kitchens of India's 33 crore families. Puri highlighted that fuel retail outlets are fully stocked and supply chains are operating smoothly. Amid opposition sloganeering, he credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's diplomatic outreach for securing crude oil volumes surpassing what the disrupted Strait of Hormuz could have supplied in the same period. "This is not the time for rumour-mongering or fake narratives," he asserted.
