PM Modi Reaches Tashkent to Strengthen India-Uzbekistan Ties

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, to strengthen India-Uzbekistan strategic partnership

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, as part of his visit aimed at further strengthening the strategic partnership between India and Uzbekistan.

During his visit, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to hold delegation-level talks with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The two leaders are expected to review the progress of bilateral cooperation and discuss priorities for taking India-Uzbekistan relations forward.

The discussions will cover key areas including trade and investment, defence, digital connectivity, energy, education and people-to-people ties.

The talks are also expected to provide an opportunity for both sides to identify new avenues of cooperation and set an agenda for the future of the bilateral relationship.

India and Uzbekistan share longstanding historical and civilisational ties, with cooperation expanding across strategic, economic, technological and cultural areas in recent years.

Prime Minister Modi’s engagement with President Mirziyoyev is expected to reaffirm India’s commitment to deepening its strategic partnership with Uzbekistan and strengthening cooperation across a wide range of sectors.
