President Droupadi Murmu was accorded a ceremonial welcome and Guard of Honour by Romanian President Nicușor Dan at the historic Cotroceni Palace during her official visit to Romania.

Following the ceremonial reception, President Murmu and President Dan held comprehensive and forward-looking discussions on strengthening the India-Romania bilateral partnership. The two leaders reviewed key areas of cooperation and exchanged views on regional and global developments, while reaffirming their commitment to closer collaboration in multilateral forums.

A major highlight of the visit was the signing of three Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at expanding cooperation between the two countries. The agreements cover collaboration in the fields of science and technology, sports, and the establishment of a Chair of Indian Studies at the University of Bucharest, reflecting the growing depth of cultural, educational, and scientific ties.

The visit underscores the shared commitment of India and Romania to deepen their long-standing friendship and explore new avenues of cooperation across diverse sectors.
