Rahul Gandhi Alleges He Was Denied Chance to Speak in Lok Sabha

Rahul Gandhi addresses a press conference after alleging he was denied the opportunity to speak in the Lok Sabha during Parliament proceedings.

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday alleged that he was not allowed to speak during the Lok Sabha proceedings despite repeatedly seeking permission from the Speaker.

Addressing a press conference after the House proceedings, Gandhi claimed that while Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and other members were permitted to speak, he was repeatedly denied an opportunity to address the House.

Rahul Gandhi said the reason cited for stopping him was his remarks about Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He stated that he had accused Amit Shah of being responsible for the alleged brutality carried out during recent incidents and claimed he was told he could continue speaking only if he apologised.

"I will never ever apologise to the BJP, RSS, or any other person associated with them," Gandhi said, asserting that it was his constitutional right as the Leader of the Opposition to raise issues of national importance in Parliament.

He further said that the issue he wanted to highlight was the alleged brutality against students in Delhi, claiming that young people who questioned the government had been subjected to force on the streets.

The remarks come amid continued disruptions in Parliament, with both the ruling NDA and the Opposition trading accusations over the conduct of House proceedings and key national issues. The government has not immediately responded to Rahul Gandhi's allegations made during the press conference.
