Rahul Gandhi Targets BJP-RSS in Tamil Nadu Rally, Vows to Protect Tamil Identity and Culture

Addressing a political rally in Tamil Nadu ahead of the Assembly elections, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a strong attack on the BJP and RSS, accusing them of attempting to undermine Tamil language, history, and culture. Rahul Gandhi alleged that the BJP-RSS combine neither understands the Tamil people nor appreciates the depth of Tamil civilisation, which he described as a legacy spanning thousands of years. He asserted that any attempt to distort or weaken this heritage would be firmly resisted. He further claimed that the BJP aims to control Tamil Nadu from Delhi by installing a compliant leadership. According to him, the party seeks a Chief Minister who would act on directives from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Taking aim at the AIADMK, Rahul Gandhi said the party has been “hollowed out” and reduced to a shadow of its former self. He alleged that it now functions as a front for the BJP, with its leadership acting under central influence, thereby compromising Tamil Nadu’s interests. Highlighting the cultural significance of Tamil, he described it as more than just a language—calling it the identity of the Tamil people, embodying centuries of history, emotion, and tradition. He emphasised that Tamil is a language of love, celebration, and shared memory passed down through generations. Reaffirming his stance, Rahul Gandhi declared that no force would be allowed to harm Tamil Nadu or its linguistic and cultural heritage, and urged voters to remain vigilant about what he described as attempts to weaken their voice in Parliament.
