Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has paid an emotional tribute to the late Sir Garry Sobers, remembering the legendary West Indies all-rounder as a once-in-a-generation icon whose warmth and humility left a lasting impression.

Sharing his thoughts on social media following Sobers' passing, Tendulkar reflected on some of the most cherished moments they shared over the years. He recalled receiving the Player of the Tournament award from Sir Garry Sobers after the 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup and later being felicitated by him after reaching the historic milestone of 100 international centuries.

Tendulkar described Sobers as "exceptionally gracious" and said those moments remain among his most treasured memories.
The batting great also remembered their final meeting in London a few years ago, where the two cricket legends spent time talking about the game they both loved. Looking back, Tendulkar said it was difficult to accept that it would be the last time they would ever meet.

Calling Sir Garry Sobers the "One and Only," Tendulkar expressed how deeply he would miss the cricketing icon and concluded his tribute by wishing him eternal peace.

Sir Garry Sobers, widely regarded as one of the greatest all-rounders in cricket history, leaves behind an unmatched legacy that continues to inspire generations of cricketers across the world.
