Samik Bhattacharya Slams TMC Over Corruption, Violence

West Bengal BJP president Samik Bhattacharya launched a sharp attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC), alleging that those involved in corruption and misappropriation of public funds would face legal action.

Addressing reporters, Bhattacharya said, "Trinamool Congress can do anything. Don't compare them with the BJP. It was not an ordinary political party; it wasn't a political party at all. None of those who looted the public's money will be spared."

Responding to the TMC's allegations over the police encounter in the Baruipur rape-murder case, the BJP leader rejected the accusations and accused the previous TMC government of fostering a culture of political violence in West Bengal.

Bhattacharya claimed that more than 300 BJP workers had been killed over the years and alleged that women associated with the party had faced atrocities. Referring to incidents in Hooghly, he also alleged that several BJP supporters' homes were demolished and that party leaders were repeatedly targeted.

He asserted that the BJP does not believe in "politics of revenge," claiming that despite the allegations against the TMC, its councillors, MLAs, and MPs continue to move freely.

The remarks come amid an intensifying political confrontation between the BJP and the TMC over law and order, corruption, and the handling of high-profile criminal cases in West Bengal.
