Sushmita Dev Says Faith in PM Modi Is Growing

Former Trinamool Congress (TMC) Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev launched a sharp attack on TMC MP Mahua Moitra while defending her decision to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Responding to Mahua Moitra's remarks, Dev said, "Her biggest problem is that no one wants to take her into their party; that is why she remains with the Trinamool."
Explaining her decision to join the BJP, Dev said the party's electoral victories in West Bengal, Assam, Odisha, and Tripura reflect growing public confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and vision.

Speaking about Assam, where she resides, Dev noted that the BJP has formed the government for a third consecutive term. She credited the Modi-led government for delivering development and ensuring effective implementation of welfare schemes, particularly at the grassroots level.

Dev further asserted that while every government may face criticism, the last-mile delivery of public welfare under Prime Minister Modi is unmatched and has strengthened people's trust in the BJP across the country.

Her remarks come shortly after joining the BJP, adding to the ongoing political churn in West Bengal ahead of key political developments.
