West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari highlights the importance of modern, sustainable transport infrastructure and Centre-State cooperation to drive economic growth, improve connectivity, promote industry, trade and create jobs across the state.

Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has underscored the importance of building a modern, eco-friendly and integrated transport network to accelerate West Bengal's economic growth, improve connectivity and create new opportunities for industry and employment.

Highlighting his experience as the state's former Transport Minister, Adhikari said that efficient transport infrastructure serves as the backbone of economic development. He emphasized that stronger connectivity through roads, railways, metro networks and inland waterways can significantly enhance trade, logistics and industrial expansion across the state.

The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of constructive cooperation between the West Bengal Government and the Centre to fast-track major infrastructure projects. Referring to the national infrastructure vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, he said coordinated efforts between the two governments would help deliver world-class transport facilities and strengthen the state's economic competitiveness.

Adhikari noted that improved transportation infrastructure would not only reduce travel time and logistics costs but also attract fresh investments, support businesses and generate large-scale employment opportunities. He added that sustainable and eco-friendly transport systems are essential for ensuring balanced regional development while meeting future mobility needs.

The Chief Minister reiterated that enhanced connectivity across every mode of transport is key to transforming West Bengal into a major hub for industry, trade and commerce, paving the way for long-term economic prosperity and inclusive growth.
