Suvendu Adhikari Unveils ₹15,000 Crore Shyam Steel Project

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Thursday laid the foundation stone for Shyam Steel's new production unit at Mejia in Bankura, a ₹15,000 crore investment expected to significantly boost industrial growth, employment, and economic development in the state.

Calling West Bengal a prime investment destination, the Chief Minister said the state is witnessing a steady inflow of large-scale investments from leading corporate groups.
"West Bengal is open for business. Large-scale investments are continuously pouring into the state. Renowned corporate giants, from Amul to the Adani Group, have already invested thousands of crores in West Bengal," Adhikari said.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister announced that Union Home Minister Amit Shah will virtually inaugurate Amul's ₹700 crore dairy plant at Dhulagarh in Howrah in the coming days.

He also revealed that another ₹4,000 crore investment in the Durgapur region is ready to move forward after Independence Day, with land and all necessary clearances already in place.

"My meetings with several large business groups have already started, and there are more to come. It hasn't been long. This government is only nine weeks old and has not even completed 100 days," Adhikari said.

The Chief Minister reiterated that his government is committed to transforming West Bengal into a major industrial hub by attracting fresh investments, generating employment, and accelerating infrastructure-led economic growth.
