Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology, Earth Sciences, and Minister of State in PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy, and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh, declared that India is stepping into a new phase of technology-led national development. Speaking at a fireside chat during the “Unstoppable Bharat 2026” Alternate Media Conference in New Delhi, he emphasized how warfare is evolving into a tech-dominated arena, where traditional combat yields to advanced technologies for strategic preparedness and security.
Dr Singh highlighted key sectors propelling India’s future:Space
Sector Boom: Recent reforms opening the sector to private players and startups have sparked a vibrant innovation ecosystem. India’s space economy is set for massive growth through collaborations between industry, research institutions, and young innovators.
Nurturing Scientific Talent: With no dearth of talent, government initiatives like Vigyan Jyoti and school-level mentoring programs—especially for girls—are fostering early interest in STEM. The National Education Policy adds flexibility, letting students explore diverse research fields based on aptitude.
Nuclear Energy’s Pivotal Role: Essential for energy security amid digital transformation, nuclear power will fuel AI, data centers, and beyond with clean, reliable energy. It also advances healthcare through nuclear medicine for cancer and blood disorders.
Collaborative Innovation: Partnerships across government, private industry, and scientists will boost capabilities in defense, healthcare, clean energy, and advanced tech.
Dr Singh stressed that these efforts position India as a global leader in science and security.
